Client-Side Privacy

Privacy Policy

Fileora is designed around a simple principle: your files belong to you. We do not upload your documents to remote servers, store them in databases, or monitor what you convert.

How We Protect Your Privacy

1. Local Processing

Files are processed directly inside your browser tab using WebAssembly and standard web APIs. No file contents or file names are ever uploaded to a remote conversion server.

2. Temporary Memory

We maintain no databases and no cloud storage buckets for your files. Converted files exist only in your device RAM. When you close the tab, that data is discarded by your browser.

3. Easily Verifiable

You can confirm our client-side architecture yourself. Open your browser Developer Tools (F12) to the Network panel and watch the network traffic while converting a file.

WebAssembly Engine Downloads & Browser Storage

To handle demanding file conversions like video compression or OCR, Fileora downloads compiled WebAssembly packages to your device. These packages are software libraries (such as FFmpeg or Tesseract) that run locally in your browser.

Your browser may store these static engine files in its local cache so they load quickly on future visits. These engine files contain only the executable code required for conversion; they never contain personal data or telemetry trackers.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. When you drop or select a file in Fileora, your browser reads it directly into local device memory using standard browser File APIs. The conversion algorithms run on your own machine. We do not operate file conversion servers, and your files are never transmitted to us.
